Good News: Evangelister Has Lifted Her Family out of Poverty!
Over the past year, Zimbabwe has faced political and economic instability. Nevertheless, the entrepreneurs in our network have continued to make strides.
Evangelister is one of them. She is a wife, mother of three, and an entrepreneur living in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe.
When we first met, Evangelister was earning a small income selling vegetables, but she dreamed of growing this agribusiness to better provide for her family of five. So, we connected her to business training and a savings group in our local network.
Six months after joining the savings group, the group members provided Evangelister with a loan which she used to grow her agribusiness and start a new retail business.
Shortly after, she received a second loan to start another business: a small food market.
A savvy entrepreneur, Evangelister now owns three businesses in three different sectors. By diversifying her businesses, she has successfully navigated the risks of Zimbabwe's tumultuous environment.
Today, she holds her head high—proud to know that she has lifted herself and her family of five out of poverty.
