Celebrating Redemptive Business on MSME Day
June 27 is micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) day!
This day, designated by the United Nations, celebrates businesses that employ 250 persons or fewer, which account for more than 90% of businesses and 70% of jobs worldwide.
As the backbone of societies everywhere, MSMEs are crucial in sustaining livelihoods among women, youth, and other vulnerable groups. Workers employed by MSMEs receive income necessary to provide food, shelter, and education for their families. It is through the entrepreneurs of small businesses like these that Partners Worldwide seeks to create environments where all can flourish.
Today, we celebrate people like Mody, Nyami, and Nanay Unie, who are bringing abundance to their communities through their small businesses. Check out their stories.
Mody, Nyami, and Nanay Unie are only a glimpse into the incredible community of entrepreneurs we’ve been fortunate enough to partner with. Since our founding we have offered business training to small and medium business owners, and in 2018 we launched a curriculum for microenterprises (businesses with fewer than six employees). This past year alone, 27,066 entrepreneurs were trained in this curriculum.
In addition to our training courses, the loans provided through our Access to Capital program equip these entrepreneurs to launch or grow their businesses.
You can join us in celebrating and uplifting the entrepreneurs who are impacting their communities through their MSMEs! Invest in someone's future today.
