Partnership is at the core of who we are. It’s born out of our service to the triune God. We model our work to be as one just as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one. We know that partnership means living out 1 Corinthians 12:12 as a global body with many parts.

Our Core Beliefs

Poverty is not God’s design

Poverty is the result of sin. It was not part of God's original plan for creation or people. We have an urgent responsibility to do something about it. Deuteronomy 15:4 states, "There need be no poor people among you."

God desires everyone to flourish

God desires more than the absence of economic poverty—but for everyone to flourish in all aspects of their life. John 10:10 says, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” We work to see people experience the holistic abundant life God desires for us.

Business is a holy, spiritual calling

People are called by God to business, just as they are called to church ministry or social service work. Every individual is called to serve God with their work.

Business is essential to ending poverty

You can’t end poverty without business. The problem of poverty is a complex issue influenced by many factors, but without a successful business environment, a sustainable solution can never be achieved.

God works through Partnership

Partnership reflects God’s triune nature and God's design of each person as an image-bearer who has something valuable to offer to others. Ending poverty requires interdependence, reciprocity, mutual respect, and humility.

Business should be redemptive

Through business, we have an opportunity to restore broken relationships with God, self, others, and creation. Redemptive entrepreneurs operate, serve, and lead in a way that brings about God's vision of shalom for the world.

Partners Worldwide affirms the historic Christian faith as professed in the Apostle’s Creed and Nicene Creed.

Our Focus

The specific foundation of our ministry is based in the book of Genesis and these truths:

  • Every human being is an image-bearer of God.
  • We see ordinary daily work as a gift from God, a primary way that humanity images God and a joyful expression of the stewardship of creation. (Genesis 1:26)

Our Mandate

  • In the light of this biblical perspective, every member of Partners Worldwide is engaged in lifelong Christian ministry in his or her ordinary, daily work. Further, we are disciples of Christ in the marketplace, answering Christ’s mandate to serve the poor. (Matthew 25:35–40)
  • Businesspeople have unique skills and therefore a special calling to create ethical businesses and provide opportunities for all to image God in satisfying, daily work.
  • We partner with local community institutions to catalyze entrepreneurs and job creators especially in areas of high unemployment and poverty.
  • As ambassadors of the reconciliation of all things, we are called to remove barriers and overcome debilitating conditions. (2 Corinthians 5:17–20) (Colossians 1:19–20)

The Result

  • Ethical businesspeople are a key stabilizing force in communities, partnering with church and others to build flourishing environments for all.
  • Economic stability and spiritual well-being go hand in hand, resulting in transformed people who transform communities, a time of Jubilee, in which humanity and all creation are reconciled in God through Christ. (Isaiah 65:20–22) (Luke 4:18)
  • Working toward this goal will result in everyone being blessed with surprising results because it is based on this biblical promise: “The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ.” (Revelation 11:15)

For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the work of their hands. ISAIAH 65:22
