Theory of Change

A theory of change explains how lasting impact happens. Ours is built on the belief that business is a holy calling and a powerful tool to end poverty. By forming long-term partnerships, we equip entrepreneurs, strengthen local institutions, and create jobs. This approach breaks cycles of poverty, restores dignity through work, and builds thriving communities.

Strategic Activities

We believe that no one deserves to experience poverty, and that a thriving economic environment is key in addressing this issue. So, we work with locally-rooted organizations who serve entrepreneurs in communities experiencing poverty through these strategic activities:

The word “partnership” is used differently by many organizations. For us, partnership starts by understanding and responding to the needs of entrepreneurs in a particular market so that everyone called to business can access the things they need to thrive.

We seek out organizations to serve those entrepreneurs, forming strong, long-lasting relationships. We take time to understand the needs of each partner and work together to design plans and solutions to help them dynamically meet the needs of entrepreneurs in their community. Throughout this process, we draw on strategic activities that have been developed through years of experience from our global network.

We develop and help implement business training curriculum based on biblical principles for micro and small to medium enterprises.

We foster relationships and expertise to grow strong, resilient local institutions and businesses. We recruit experienced businesspeople and professionals to join and support our global network.

Through Local Community Institutions and strategic partnerships, we provide funds for microloans and loans for small & medium enterprises. We also collaborate with our partners on innovative projects that address financial gaps in underserved markets, aiming to create more efficient and accessible financial systems.

We leverage long-term relationships that go beyond individual connections to create collaborative ecosystems. By bringing together multiple partners across regions and countries, we leverage these relationships to enhance value chains, share knowledge, and identify market linkages.

These activities provide:

Desired Outcomes

Access to Knowledge

Access to information, best practices, and practical resources empowers people living in poverty to take on new challenges and improve the practices they are already involved in.

Access to Markets

Access to local, national, and international markets boosts economic security and incomes. New and diversified markets offer better profits and help small businesses survive economic downturns.

Access to Relationships

Supportive relationships foster partnerships, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, leading to mutual growth and stronger communities that support each other in difficult times.

Access to Capital

Without access to capital, businesses will struggle to expand their operations, upgrade equipment, and hire additional employees. It is particularly important for small businesses that often lack the financial resources of larger corporations.

Access to Ecosystems

The systems, resources, laws, and practices that make business possible can be complex to navigate or may unfairly favor one group over another. Thriving businesses depend on healthy business ecosystems.
